Marseille

A brief and unexpected meeting I found you
And was charmed by you
Unlike your cohorts
You had the sea breeze in your hair
And among the mountains and cliffs a little dirt and grit in your air
Despite a collection of soaps as your claim to fame, a manly man, all the same.
With graffiti and colored walls
Surrounding a coast of stone
A whiny accent yet still decadent
And alluring
And surprisingly calming
For such a busy port
And religious sort
Your highest point
An ode to your mother
As you’re quite unlike your brother
A bit smaller
A bit sunnier
I’m glad I got a chance to meet you
Our time was indeed full of wonder
