Taipei, I came to you for New Year’s Day – to see the fireworks off your 101, and surely, they will not be outdone.

But your quaint city gave me much more, too. A huge and happily inhabited botanical zoo, a subway system so simple, their stops, no one will miss them.

The food, don’t get me started – I could never have parted, from your authentic restaurants, to the galore of outside food merchants.

The shopping so easy, the carnival games a little bit cheesy, but a prize because I played my part? Sir, you’ve won my heart.
